To memories,
I see you walking down from the bridge. You are wearing your favourite white
shirt and black jeans. I see you smile and the dimple dig your soft cheeks, deep
inside your face. I can’t help but smile back at you even if I am not in the
best of mood. I help myself to walk towards you, now that you are right in
front of me. We hold our hands, not scared of anyone watching us; not scared of
anyone passing comments as this type of behaviour is not acceptable
in our country.
Now that the truth of we being together is out to our parents, we
are bold and open to everyone else too. We don't care what others think, cause
we are already 16 and not kids! Even though our parents did not accept us being
together and the big fight yesterday had made us upset and scare-some, now
that I see you, I can’t think of a better life than being with you. We walk towards
the cafe, occasionally squeezing each other’s hand to let know that both the sides we have the same feeling and a sense of new bond that has developed. I sit
at my usual place and see you take yours. You keep my hand on yours at the
table and we just look into our eyes and smile. The cafe guy brings us coffee
as usual, which is our daily order.
"I love you" you murmur and I tell you back that "I
Love You Too" which was obvious. There is nothing else to say as we both
know what we want and what we care for. Our parents won’t be there 50 years
hence to see if we are 'okay'. We both know we need each other and just the
look in eyes says that. Just before you had arrived to meet me, we both were
upset, I know, you too. And a smile upon our faces, makes the world look right.
Nothing can go wrong we know, even though nothing yet is right in place, except
that we are in love. We vow to be till death do us apart, as we always do. We
know that we won’t be able to meet again as we used to everyday. We know our
parents would try everything to make us stay away from each other, but our love
for each other cannot be broken no matter what. We know that contacting each
other would not be as it was, but 4-5 years hence when we would be with each
other in our arms, whole struggle would be totally worth it. No words were
said, as everything was known. No promises were given, as everything was understood. We don’t even say a ‘Good Bye’ as were meant to meet again.
I take your palm in mine, as our eyes speak the words out loud and
the feelings are transferred through automatic connection that is built between
us. I then, simply put my arms around your neck and bring you closer to me as much as
possible. The brief hug made me feel the best feeling possible in human. The
safety in your arms was inexpressible. I
inhale your smell, the personal drug type cologne for me, and sense the feeling
called ‘LOVE’ from whole my heart.
“Take care” you say and leave from the cafe. I know you would take care so I need not say back because ‘That We Love, Nothing Matters!’
